THE NON SURGICAL FACE LIFT

As featured on BBC Somerset. We have been teaching Facial Pilates with absolutely fantastic results. Typically we see
• fuller lips and mouth area
• brighter, more radiant complexion
• lifted neck, chin and jowl areas
• fuller cheeks with better definition to the cheekbones
• brow and eye areas lift – eyes appear more open
• appearance of the face is generally more youthful and fresh

In Facial Pilates you learn how to tone very specific muscles focusing on the face and neck areas. The exercises will improve circulation to the skin leaving your skin looking brighter and more radiant. This improved circulation caries vital oxygen and nutrients to skin and tissues whilst carrying away old and damaged cells. Facial Pilates has been described as the non-surgical facelift.

Whatever your age this technique will help to keep you looking better. With this program of exercise you can tighten flabby throat muscles, reduce jowls, firm the lower cheeks, lift droopy eyelids, firm and refresh the eye areas, reduce lines on the forehead and brows, plump the upper lip area, promote a healthier complexion. You will generally see results in a matter of weeks and improvement will continue for as long as you continue doing the exercises. In a few minutes a day you can shape the facial muscles, build tone and preserve and improve your appearance.

Our program begins at 9.45am when the doors open and we meet for registration, tea and coffee will be served. Over the course of the day you will participate in a series of workshops to learn the Facial Pilates techniques. There will be breaks for refreshments in the morning and the afternoon with teas and coffees with biscuits and snacks available. At lunchtime a vegetarian buffet lunch will be served followed by your choice of teas or coffee. Our day finishes at around 4.45pm after a wind up session incorporating relaxation and final questions and discussions.

We run an ongoing monthly maintenance group here which you will be very welcome to join after taking this course where we meet to discuss the exercises, add new exercises and generally compare notes on how we are doing.

January 2011 Energy update

We have a Solar Eclipse at the beginning of January 2011, it takes place on the 4th January and is at 13°39′ Capricorn. It is conjunct the fixed star Ascella. Ascella is in the constellation Sagittarius, the Kabalists associate it with the tarot card “The Lovers”. Presumably because of the Cupid above them drawing his bow and arrow like the archer. The word Sag means ‘To seek out’.
The only planetary aspect the Moon makes is a square to Saturn. Despite the square, the stars influence is a fortunate, optimistic one and just makes the Saturn influence more about seeking to settle down and work hard. Maybe aiming to strike a deal in a working partnership. People pulling together, opening the doors of communication and trusting each other.
So the feeling of this Eclipse is one of relief. We are looking forward to 2011 with a much clearer idea of where things are heading. No frills or drama with the square from Saturn. Just getting on with things, being practical. Organising for the year ahead. Planting realistic seeds. Ones that will flower in the way you want them too. No nasty shocks. No smoke and mirrors, promises of second comings or Armageddon. We got through 2010 and the Cardinal Crisis. We are wiser and less naive.
The Moon is conjunct is Asteroid Eros (38’) Which is a great compliment to Sagittarius’s Archer and Cupid’s bow I mentioned at the start. This Moon then has a theme of seeking and taking aim. Going for it without hesitation. Eros is the symbol of erotic love. He is a primal, phallic god who embodies the masculine sexual force.
Eros is like a higher octave of Mars, refining the raw sexual drive and channeling it into a path of spiritual enlightenment. He does this through his union with Psyche. This is why partnership is so important with this New Moon. Of course this being an eclipse it’s also about the Moon’s marriage with the Sun. Unifying opposites. Ying and yang. Like Psyche with Eros, the Moon tempers the ego somewhat.
Eros is about being “turned on”. So its square to Saturn would be about getting turned on by real life and hard work. A great time to form business partnerships, though the square will mean they are challenging. The challenge is a good thing however, ridding us of fluff by creating healthy competition. Squares are dynamic and get things done.
The eclipse of the Sun has traditionally been viewed with dread over the ages, as the great giver of life seems inexplicably to disappear from the sky. Birds prepare for bed; the sky darkens in the middle of the day. It seems as though something dreadful is about to happen. Over the years, experience has shown us that old things come to an end (or are overthrown!) under a solar eclipse and a new beginning can be made. The effect on the world of eclipses has been seen to be generally felt for some six months, until the next eclipse then restructures the cosmic energies.
Astrologically, solar eclipses signify the fall of the mighty (or at least, they’re in big trouble!). Depending where in the zodiac the eclipse occurs, stress is always placed on the matters governed by that sign, or sector of the zodiac. A powerful Solar Eclipse can create massive havoc, in accordance with other aspects in the heavens at the time, as can be clearly seen by the trail of earthquakes and other disasters associated with the Solar Eclipse and Grand Cross of August 1999.
At a more personal level, the solar eclipse can have a big effect on our personal lives when it occurs in conjunction with one of our natal planets, especially our natal Sun, Moon, or Ruling Planet. Other important chart factors, such as Moon’s Nodes, Ascendant, Mid-heaven, or Part of Fortune can also have a very significant effect when impacted by a solar eclipse. Where the eclipse falls in the chart is significant, as the energies expressed by its house placement will show the areas of life that are affected by the new beginning that is implied.
Solar eclipses don’t often pass over populated areas. That’s a good thing! However, when they do, they appear to have significant disruptive effects on the people and nations concerned (e.g., economic or political crises, civil unrest). This one although partial, affects quite a large population in Europe, Africa and Asia, for it will be seen from such diverse locations as London and Moscow, Istanbul, Cairo and New Delhi. Solar Eclipses also seem either to trigger or amplify natural events in the regions they affect (e.g., severe weather, earthquakes). The eclipse being in Capricorn means that people with Cardinal signs (Cancer; Libra; Capricorn; Aries) featured in their birthcharts are more likely to be affected. The next eclipse of the Sun will be in Gemini on June 1, 2011, but the next total Solar Eclipse is not until Nov 13, 2012.

This particular eclipse asks us to re-evaluate our goals and ambitions, as well as our place in society. We may want to simplify our immediate reality. As more and more of the knowledge carried within from past/parallel civilizations remember itself within us, the more wisdom and power we exude. An important time to remember who we really are in our divinity and where we come from in an expanded concept of reality.

Energy Update

Energetic Update December 12th 2010
Well, it has certainly been a tough few weeks and we are not quite out of it yet. As 2010 draws to a close we are being asked to complete and close all those tasks we have been avoiding so assiduously. This is a time of clearing and letting go at very deep levels. The vibrational frequencies now resonating around the Earth are shaking out the old and until we really let go we block the incoming of these new energies. We must do this consciously, purposefully and powerfully. It is time to finish up with our spiritual, psychological, emotional and physical lessons and projects. It is also time to think hard about where you want to put your energy and effort as we come into the new year.
December starts out with a Mercury retrograde period that started on the 10th and runs until the 30th. We have Solstice on the 21st (when the sun closely aligns with the galactic center), and another then an eclipse sandwich with the full moon and a total lunar eclipse on the same day as the solstice and a partial solar eclipse on January 4, 2011.
The vibrational frequencies shake you up at every level whether you want them to or not, so rather than resisting try to ride the energy and consciously release. Use this time to review and revisit all that you putting your energy into.
At a physical level you may find that you are more tired than usual, with symptoms of dizziness, tiredness, sinus problems, headaches and inability to concentrate. As an energy worker you are more sensitive to the vibrational changes currently taking place, so be sure the take the time to rest and to take care of yourself.
