Mike’s late summer chutney

Mike’s Late Summer Chutney
1lb plums (take out the stones)
1lb apples (peeled and cored)
1lb onions (peeled and chopped)
1lb tomatoes
1lb sultanas
1lb demerara sugar
2 garlic cloves
1 pint apple cider vinegar
½ teaspoon mixed spice
Chop the plums, apples, onions, tomatoes and garlic. Place in a large pan with the sultanas, mixed spice and cider vinegar, simmer for 30 minutes. Add the sugar and stir well to dissolve it. Leave to cool and put in vinegar proof jars (plastic or glass lids, not metal).
Will keep for a year.
