Choc chip biscuits

These are very light and come out quite thin, leave plenty of room on the baking sheets for them to spread. You will need several sheets, well buttered.
115 g or 4 oz plain flour
2.5 ml or half teaspoon bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)
1.5 ml or quarter teaspoon of baking powder
115 g or 4 oz butter, softened
115 g or 4 oz caster sugar
75 g or 3 oz brown cane sugar
1 egg
1.5 ml or quarter teaspoon vanilla essence
75 g or 3 oz oats
175 gor 6 oz chocolate chips

Preheat overn to 180C or 350F, grease the baking trays. combine the bicarbonate of soda, baking powder and sift into a bowl, set aside. Cream the butter and sugar, then add the egg and vanilla essence and beat well using a mixer. Add the flour mixture and beat on a low speed till thoroughly mixed together, stir in the oats and chocolate chips, use a big wooden sppon and mix in well. Drop heaped teaspoons onto the baking sheets about 1 inch apart and back for about 15 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and cool. Store in a tin if you can resist eating them all.
